Future Plan

Using the results of this study, the research committee and funder will decide if we should continue to a bigger study with more participants and sites.

What happens in the study?

01
Some patients referred at site listed below will be selected to participate in the UPTURN Feasibility Study (WP1b).
02
Selected patients will be sent a letter (total of 40 patients) explaining the study and how to opt-out if they don't want to participate.
03
Contact details of those who didn't say they don't want to participate to be shared with Asthma + Lung UK so that they can send them the Prepare for PR document pack and contact them for a free optional support phone call.
04
In their own time those selected patients can read the information provided and access the online resources available as part of the service.
05
Patients can access an optional support phone call with the Asthma + Lung UK Health Advisor Team. The call can last up to 20 minutes but can be stopped at any point.

What is Prepare for PR?

Prepare for PR is a support service designed by people with COPD, their carers, and healthcare professionals. It is not a medical treatment.

Prepare for PR is here to support patients with COPD through their journey before their first Pulmonary Rehabilitation appointment. Prepare for PR consists of the following as part of the support service.
